LET US INTRODUCE OURSELVES

We're Anna & Lars Norrman. And this place was never really meant to become a hotel.

We bought the old farmhouse in 2017 and moved into the villa while we started pulling the rest of the place apart.

That first winter, we turned the old stables into bedrooms and the former pigsty into what is now the restaurant. There was dust everywhere. New plumbing, new electricity, insulation, plaster, paint — and probably quite a few moments when we wondered what on earth we had started.

We wanted to do it properly. The farmhouse was rebuilt using natural materials — lime paint, wood fibre, cork and paper insulation. No plastic hidden in the walls. We wanted an old house that could still breathe like an old house.

THEN, SOMEHOW, WE BECAME HOTEL PEOPLE.

For the first years, we ran The Norrmans ourselves as a tiny boutique hotel.

We cooked. We cleaned. We made the beds. We checked people in. And during winter, when we closed the doors, we travelled.

We came home with things.

Old furniture, strange objects, textiles, lamps and things we probably didn't need but couldn't leave behind. Slowly, those finds became The Norrmans. That's why nothing really matches — and why you won't find another room quite like yours.

AND THEN WE CHANGED OUR MINDS.

We stopped renting out individual rooms.

Instead, we handed over the keys to the whole place.

And it turned out we liked The Norrmans even better this way.

Now families arrive and fill every bedroom. Friends take over the restaurant for the weekend. Companies disappear here for a few days. People celebrate things. Stay up too late. Eat breakfast when they feel like it.

For a little while, the farmhouse becomes theirs.

Which is exactly how we think it should be.

Take care of it while you're here.
Make yourself at home.

Love,
Anna & Lars

WE ALSO DESIGN OTHER PLACES

When we're not at the farmhouse, we run our interior design studio in Sweden.
